THE MANAGER'S FAVOURITE ARTISTS

Bruce Springsteen - anything and everything by him. I met him once.

Jackie Leven - a cool dude who not many people have heard of. Celtic folk of real quality with about a dozen albums out. Used to be in a band called Doll By Doll in the 70s. Plays our local The New Roscoe in Leeds regularly.A very interesting bloke who invited me and my mates up to Scotland for a New Year's Eve booze up about 4 years ago.We chickened out. Check out the album ' The Mystery Of Love Is Greater Than The Mystery Of Death'.

Graham Parker - yes, Graham Parker of The Rumour fame. Still churns out impressive albums.

Chuck Prophet - ex Green On Red. All the way from America and plays The New Roscoe regularly.A great songwriter and guitarist. Check out the album ' The Hurting Business'.

The Beatles - got a full set of first pressing vinyl albums in mint condition worth a fortune now. Was it really 40 years ago? The first album 'Please Please Me' in 1963 defines everything that is rock and pop and arguably will never be bettered. The Beatles At Shea Stadium is one of the best music DVDs ever. What would have happened if someone had bought them some proper amps and all those stupid girls had stopped screaming?

John Lennon - my all time hero after Bruce. Definitely maintained the quality post Beatles - some of the unreleased stuff is astounding. What would he have done if he'd still been here? I still get sad.

Ben Harper - a guitarist songwriter with an unusual vocal style and exceptional songs. Anything from light acoustic blues to almost Hendrix style and all his albums have a real depth.

Ten Years After - my favourite 'progressive' band in the late 60s/early 70s. Wild guitar solos and even wilder concerts and very happy times as a 17 year old. Alvin Lee was a mate for a while, I played his famous red Gibson guitar once and shared a few pints with the band at Leeds Uni over the years. Still got all of the signed albums.Vinyl rules. Am I a saddo?
