BORN TO RUN REVIEWS
It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll Magazine
Review by Helen & Nigel

The Diamond Club, Sutton In Ashfield, Notts, on 13th December 2003

"I hate tribute bands, they are usually more of an insult than a tribute so I was not expecting great things
from this band - oops - I couldn’t have been more wrong!   From the moment they started to play, they were
110% right through to the end!   This group were just about faultless in their performance.   They were so good
that if you’re a fan of The Boss and can’t get to see the man himself then go see these instead, it’s well worth it.

I will definitely be going to see them again."

Hi Band,

...just to let you know we had a fantastic night last Friday we came away from the Kite Club in a similar frame of mind to coming away from Wembley stadium a few years ago.   Your version of Out On The Street was brilliant we really enjoyed it we were singing it all weekend!!!!!!

Any chance of an acoustic version of the river on new years eve????

Thanks for a great night

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd drop you a line to thank you for the brilliant gigs at the above venues.   The Springhead gig
was particularly awesome - we need much more of   this.   ...Hope you’re going to add some more gigs to
your schedule near us anyway - looks like next best one for us is in Hull in December.

Look forward to seeing you then if not before.

Regards,

Ged Carton   …(me & my mate were right at the front during the last few songs)

Hi All,

One helluva band !!!

Just a wee email, to let you know what Roy and myself thought of the South Shields Gig, and from my mates that came aswell.   If I had a hat I would take it off.   You ALL played fanfriggintastic.

No kidding we really enjoyed it, and we could all tell that you lot enjoyed it as well.

Nice one big time.   What a great night.

See you soon…   …(and Badlands was unreal).

Hi Boys!

Just wanted to drop you all a line to say how much we enjoyed the show last week at The Roscoe.

It was absolutely fantastic and having seen Bruce three times last year, just the kind of tonic we needed.

It's very obvious how dedicated you are, and how professionally you take your music, and I hope to see another of your shows again soon.

All the best.

Andy.       ___________________________________________________________

Hi guys,

Me and a few mates from University came to see you at the Boardwalk in Sheffield a few nights ago. Just wanted to say that we really enjoyed it and were amazed out how authentic you made the songs sound.

We were completely blown away when you did 'The River'- it sounded spot on!

I realised during your gig that I really must complete my Brucey CD collection, there were lots of songs that
you did that I was not familiar with. The Rising will definitely be my next purchase.

Thanks again and I hope to see you back in Sheffield soon,
Charles.

Hi Guys, or should I say Bruce and the E Street Band

What a night at the Venue in Grimsby last night, first time my husband and I have seen you and hopefully
not the last in Grimsby.   The whole set up was brilliant, quality of sound and mixing superb.

I would be grateful though if you could let me know the title of the first track, not one I'm familiar with, I have
all but two of Bruce's albums.   Went to see him in Manchester in May last year, what a concert.

Best Wishes

To all the band,

Can I thank you all for a fantastic afternoon's entertainment last Sunday.
The whole show is brilliant and the surprise encore was a real treat. Keep on doing what you are doing. Hope to see you in Grimsby again soon

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to write to say thanks for a fantastic gig the other night. I was there with my sisters and we had a brilliant night. I really loved the selection of songs you played and will definitely look out for where you'll be playing in the future.   Enjoy the Bruce gigs next week, I've got the new c.d. and think it's superb!

Guys
Thank you for a most entertaining night....... even
though I did get a £30 parking ticket!! (I did NOT see the disabled markings on >the carpark surface!). I was quite sceptical at first, you hear a lot of not-good things
about "tribute" bands, but I must say that I was thoroughly impressed.

Mark Priestley IS Bruce.......my god you must have watched
thousands of Springsteen vids, all the mannerisms are there and "the look" - well done my friend, well done.

If you are ever back in the Manchester area my son, Aaron, has a rock covers >band - One-in-Ten (website www.oneintenROCK.com) please make yourselves known - you will be made very welcome (even us Lancastrians can be
civilised,you >know).

Thanks again for a great night.>Regards

Just a quick note to thank you for a brilliant night on Saturday at Shaw playhouse, being a Springsteen fan for many years I have never been able to afford to see the big man on tour ( slight pause here waiting for the violins to kick in). The set was superb even though you didn't play The River or If I should fall behind. I took my girlfriend who only knew two songs ( sorry for that there is no accounting for taste), but she was more>than impressed with the set. I have the misfortune of having a Brother in Law who is a Springsteen nut, and has actually flown to New York just
for a gig and then flew straight back, even though you could never compare Shaw to the Big Apple you lads more than made up for it. Having played Bass in various local bands over the years its nice to see real musicians putting good their long hours in rehearsal rooms. Once again thanks for a brilliant night hope you are in my area in future , if you are i'll bring a coach load with me.
Regards

If you've seen the band please feel free to email us and tell us what you thought and we'll post your review here.
I really enjoyed the night you guys came down to London – the best tribute band I’ve seen by far and a great deal better than many ‘famous’ acts I’ve been dragged along to or seen off my own back.
